Yellville-Summit Schools

Since 2012, this pre-K through 12th grade school has utilized the school gardens to facilitate garden-based learning, local procurement, and Ag in the Classroom / nutrition education endeavors by dozens of educators and their students. With demonstration gardens containing 22 raised beds, an 1,800 square foot Ag Ed greenhouse, high tunnel, and orchard, this school garden is diverse and provides outdoor learning opportunities for many students in Yellville.  It was awarded the 2015 School Garden of the Year Award from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.  Our FFA / Ag Ed students help maintain a Garden-to-Cafeteria program where produce is grown to be utilized in school food service.
